Earthly fathers often have special nicknames for their daughters: princess, baby girl, peanut, etc. Our heavenly father reaches down to us and with those same loving words and compassion says,
‘Princess, come to me. I will take care of you.’ All we need to do is accept His hand and walk with Him. Even when you fall, He is there to pick you up, dust you off, and return you to Him.
Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.
He is the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them—
he remains faithful forever.
He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets prisoners free,
the Lord gives sight to the blind,
the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
the Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord watches over the foreigner
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.
The Lord reigns forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.
Praise the Lord.
Psalm 146:5-10, NIV
As we walk…
Abba created us to serve a specific purpose in His plan. He did not want us to wallow in self-pity, hide in our homes, or be swept away by earthly desires for prosperity…
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11, NIV
Worldly values and pursuits can block our minds to the true path our heavenly father would have us travel. His plan, his purpose, his glory, his way. Our heavenly father asks that you trust, believe, honor, obey, share His love, and allow His glory to shine through you to His other sons and daughters. Abba will show you how He needs you to help this fallen world. We honor Him by sharing His love with those around us.
How many of us hide our true selves from the world because we believe or have experienced that pain of rejection by society? I’m guilty. Even as a mature woman of Christ, I struggle with the “public” versus “private” me…. There should be no difference. Strive to face the world by finding strength in how your heavenly father sees you… as his “princess” not perfect but a work in progress and right where He needs you at the right time.
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
